What is A2P 10DLC?
A2P 10DLC (Application-to-Person 10-Digit Long Code) is a regulatory framework that requires businesses to register before sending SMS messages through standard phone numbers. US carriers (AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon) enforce this requirement — unregistered messages may be blocked, filtered, or heavily throttled. Completing A2P registration ensures that SMS messages sent by Tenzo on your behalf (interview scheduling, reminders, and candidate outreach) are delivered reliably. All organizations that use SMS-based candidate communication must complete this registration. Without it, carriers will block or throttle your messages.
Prerequisites
- You must be an Admin user in Tenzo
Accessing the Registration Page
Navigate to Admin > SMS Registration to access the A2P 10DLC onboarding flow. The page displays three registration cards, each representing a step in the process.Step 1: Trust Hub Profile
The Trust Hub profile verifies your business identity with the carrier networks. This is the foundation for all subsequent registration steps.Information You Will Need

Approval Timeline
Trust Hub review typically takes 1–3 business days. You can check the current status on the SMS Registration page at any time.Step 2: Brand Registration
Brand registration submits your company to The Campaign Registry (TCR), the central database carriers use to identify legitimate business senders. You can start brand registration while your Trust Hub profile is still under review.
Options You Will Choose
Brand Type:- Standard — higher message throughput, recommended for most organizations
- Low-Volume Standard — for organizations sending fewer than 6,000 messages per day
- Private — privately held company
- Public — publicly traded company (you will also provide your stock exchange and ticker symbol)
Approval Timeline
Brand registration typically takes 2–5 business days. Use the Check Approval button on the SMS Registration page to poll for updates.Step 3: Campaign Registration
Campaign registration tells the carriers how your organization will use SMS messaging. This is the final step before your SMS sending is fully compliant. In this context, “campaign” refers to a carrier A2P messaging campaign (your registered SMS use case), not a Tenzo job.
What You Will Provide
- Message flow / consent description — describe how candidates consent to receive SMS messages from your organization (e.g., “Candidates apply to job postings and provide their phone number, consenting to receive interview-related communications.”)
Approval Timeline
Campaign registration typically takes 1–3 business days. Use the Check Approval button to check for updates.Monitoring Status
The SMS Registration page shows the current status of each registration step with status badges:- Not Started — step has not been initiated
- Awaiting Approval — submitted and under review
- Approved — step completed successfully
- Failed — an error occurred (see Troubleshooting below)
After Registration
Once all three steps show as approved and the overall status is Completed, your organization’s SMS messaging is fully compliant. No further action is needed — Tenzo will automatically use the registered messaging service for all candidate SMS communication.Troubleshooting
