Overview

Candidates may apply to many jobs at once — for example, the same role across multiple locations — and those jobs frequently use exactly the same interview. With Interview Result Reuse enabled, a candidate only needs to complete such an interview once. When they finish an interview (whether they pass or fail), the result is automatically applied to their other applications for jobs whose interview is identical, so the candidate is not called again for those jobs.
This feature is disabled by default.
Reuse vs skip. Reuse does not interview the candidate again. The prior pass or fail is cloned only when the question set is identical — same questions, same order, same grading, same follow-ups, same knockout behavior, same answer type, and the same who each question is asked of (for example applicants vs sourced). Cosmetic titles do not matter; a wording, grading, follow-up, or targeting change does.If interviews overlap but are not identical, Skip Questions from Recent Interviews still calls and skips individual questions that are the same in intention — even when the rest of the interview is job-specific or has changed. Skip looks at each question’s text against the prior transcript; grading-instruction edits do not block it.When both are on, reuse is checked first. Match → no call. Miss → call + skip. Exception: if resume disqualification is on, Tenzo reviews the resume first. A passing applicant is still called even when the interviews match, and skip can run on that call.

How it works

  1. A candidate completes an interview for one of their applications.
  2. Tenzo checks the candidate’s other open applications for jobs whose interview questions are identical to the interview just completed.
  3. For each matching application, the interview result — including the pass or fail outcome and question grades — is applied automatically.
  4. Each application then moves through its normal post-interview flow: the stage move happens per application, and your ATS is updated for each application individually.
  5. The candidate receives no additional interview calls or other outreach for those matching applications.
This also works in the other direction: if a candidate applies to a new job whose interview is identical to one they already completed recently, the existing result is applied to the new application immediately and no outreach is started. Reuse also applies when a paused job or paused candidate is resumed: if the candidate completed an identical interview while the application was paused, the existing result is applied on resume instead of restarting outreach.
A candidate’s application is only checked for reuse once it’s synced into Tenzo, which happens when the ATS application reaches the org’s configured start stage for that job — the same trigger that starts normal outreach (see Entry points). So reuse write-back — moving the application straight to Call Completed or Failed Knockout — happens at that same start-stage sync point, not at initial application.

Enable Interview Result Reuse

  • What it does: When enabled, a completed interview result (pass or fail) is automatically applied to the candidate’s other applications for jobs with an identical interview.
  • Default: Disabled.

Reuse Window

  • What it does: Controls how long a completed interview result remains eligible for reuse on other applications.
  • Default: 45 days.
  • An interview completed outside this window is not reused, and the candidate will be interviewed as normal.

Matching

Results are only reused between jobs whose interviews are identical — the same questions, in the same order, with the same grading, follow-ups, knockout behavior, answer type, and who each question is asked of. If two jobs’ interviews differ in any of those ways — including a small wording or grading-instruction edit, or changing a question from all candidates to applicants only — the candidate is interviewed for each job as normal. Sharing a job template is not enough if the script was edited after the first interview. The best way to keep interviews identical is with job templates. Presentation

Reused results appear on each application just like a regular interview result, with an indication that the result was reused from a prior interview. Reused results are snapshots: later edits to the original interview result are not propagated to the other applications.

Candidate communication

Candidates do not receive duplicate thank-you emails or feedback messages for applications that received a reused result.
