# WhatsApp Templates

> Customize the WhatsApp messages Tenzo sends for call invites, interview links, and call requests

## What this controls

WhatsApp Templates let you customize the three WhatsApp messages Tenzo sends for your organization:

* **Call invite** — sent when a phone interview starts over WhatsApp. The candidate taps a button to call in.
* **Interview link** — sent when a video interview invitation is delivered over WhatsApp.
* **Call request** — sent when Tenzo asks the candidate to call in, including on a permanent number.

These are organization-wide. Jobs that use WhatsApp all share the same three messages.

## Manage templates

Use **Admin → Templates Bank → WhatsApp Templates**. Only organization admins can view and edit these templates.

Each template appears as a card with its approval status. Open a card to edit the text and choose **Submit for approval**. Changes must be approved before they send. Until then, Tenzo keeps using the last approved version.

## Variables

Each template supports a fixed set of variables, and all of them must stay in the text:

| Template | Variables |
| - | - |
| Call invite | `{{candidate_first_name}}`, `{{ai_interviewer_name}}`, `{{hiring_company_name}}` |
| Interview link | `{{candidate_first_name}}`, `{{job_title}}`, `{{interview_length_minutes}}` |
| Call request | None |

Other variables, such as the ones available in SMS and email templates, can't be used in WhatsApp templates. The interview link button is added automatically.

* [Permanent Phone Numbers](/settings/permanent-phone-numbers) — inbound WhatsApp on a permanent number uses these templates for interview links and call requests.
