# Links in emails

> Add a clickable link with visible text to an email body

You can add a link in any email body you write: the interview email and the initial email on a job, and thank-you, rejection, and resume feedback templates.

Write the link as `[text](url)`. The text is what the candidate reads. The url is where the click goes.

```
You can review our [benefits](https://example.com/benefits) before the interview.
```

The candidate sees **benefits** as a link to `https://example.com/benefits`.

Both parts are required. These show an error, and the email cannot be saved until you fill in the missing part:

* `[](https://example.com/benefits)` is missing the text
* `[benefits]()` is missing the url
* `[]()` is missing both

The url must start with `http://` or `https://`. A url with any other start is left as the text you typed and is not clickable.

This syntax works in email bodies only. The subject, text messages, and other editors leave `[text](url)` as ordinary text.

`{{interview_link}}` is separate. Keep using it where the candidate needs the interview itself.
