# Post-Interview Feedback

> When Tenzo asks candidates to rate their interview experience after phone and video interviews

After an interview, Tenzo can collect optional feedback from the candidate — a 1–5 star rating, tagged reasons, and free-text comments. Recruiters see responses on the candidate's **[Feedback tab](/getting-started/reviewing-an-interview#feedback-tab)** in the interview review drawer.

Collection works differently for phone and web interviews.

## Collect Candidate Feedback After Call

The **Collect Candidate Feedback After Call** toggle (under interview settings) controls the **web/video** experience:

* **Enabled (default):** After finishing a video interview, the candidate sees an in-app feedback form before the completion screen.
* **Disabled:** The candidate skips the feedback form and goes straight to the thank-you / completion screen.

This toggle does **not** disable the standard post-call feedback SMS on phone interviews. Phone feedback is described below.

## Phone interviews — feedback SMS

For **AI phone screens**, Tenzo sends a follow-up text with a short intro and a 1–5 rating question when **all** of the following are true:

1. **The candidate completed the interview** — the call reached the **Completed** outcome. Interviews where the candidate dropped out early (for example, hanging up partway through) do **not** receive the SMS.
2. **Phone interview** — not a web/video call.
3. **Call Completed or Failed Knockout** — feedback is requested after both outcomes when the candidate completed the interview. A candidate who **failed a required knockout question** but still completed the interview receives the feedback SMS at call completion, the same as before. The one exception is a candidate who is **entering the scheduling flow** — see [Scheduling jobs](#scheduling-jobs-feedback-after-booking) below.
4. **Not a practice/test call**
5. **SMS can be delivered** — the candidate has SMS consent, a text-capable mobile number, and Tenzo has a valid outbound number for the job. Landlines and other blocked line types do not receive the text. See **[Candidate Consent](/internal/candidate-consent)** for consent and line-type behavior.

Tenzo sends at most **one** feedback SMS per call.

### Scheduling jobs — feedback after booking

On jobs with **scheduled follow-up enabled**, a candidate who **passes screening** is asked to book a follow-up interview. For these candidates the feedback SMS is **deferred until they book** — it is sent only after the follow-up is scheduled, so the feedback survey never competes with or precedes the scheduling text. A passing candidate who never books a follow-up does not receive the feedback SMS.

This deferral applies only to **passing** candidates on scheduling jobs. Candidates who fail a knockout, do not pass screening, or are on jobs without scheduled follow-up are unaffected and still receive feedback at call completion as described above.

### What the candidate receives

The message includes:

* A thank-you / intro line (`feedback.intro`)
* A 1–5 rating question (`feedback.rating_question`)

Replies are handled in the **POST\_CALL\_FEEDBACK** SMS state. Follow-up prompts (reason tags, optional comments) are sent based on the candidate's rating.

## Web interviews — in-app feedback

When **Collect Candidate Feedback After Call** is enabled, candidates complete feedback in the browser immediately after their video interview. Responses appear in the interview review drawer with a **Video Interview** badge.

When the setting is disabled, no in-app feedback form is shown.
